Why you need Pilates in your life, how classes can help you, and what you can expect
Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being, and is similar to Yoga in that it concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility. In Pilates the chance of injury is much lower than with other more strenuous forms of exercise, and has been used by dancers for many years to strengthen their bodies and as rehabilitation after an injury.

Pilates also focuses on the mind-body connection. While doing the various exercises your mind needs to be constantly aware of your breathing and the way your body moves.

I teach Pilates in my studio at home as well as taking classes at other venues. I am passionate about promoting Pilates to everyone as I understand how Pilates can contribute to a persons fitness and overall well being. I enjoy developing bespoke programmes for clients and supporting them on their journey to transform their bodies and meet their personal fitness goals. Following a Pilates programme enables people to understand how their body works and enjoy the benefits to their physical and mental health.

Moving some of my classes to online has been an amazing journey for me and my clients. Change can be liberating, and although working online is not a replacement for studio classes it has enabled more people to access my programmes and incorporate exercise into their daily lives. Using Zoom as a teaching tool enables me to observe and correct clients.

In the studio I have a variety of Pilates equipment to support clients in their mat Pilates sessions. I also have a Reformer,Half Cadillac and Wunder Chair. All of this equipment can be used for rehabilitation, beginners, improvers and advanced programmes.

I love Mat Pilates, however it is always beneficial to add a new dimension to an individuals programme.

Pilates is taught in many different ways, however the philosophy remains the same. I have studied and practiced Pilates all of my life and I love passing this expertise on to others.Pilates can be a life changing approach to exercise.

My aim is and always has been to help people improve their quality of life by learning how to use their body efficiently and effectively. In recent years I have achieved my Pilates Masters with HFE, this additional knowledge has given me the qualifications to work with clients who experience lower back pain, suffer with various chronic conditions, are pre or post natal or are part of an exercise referral programme.

Working as a Pilates movement specialist I feel I can help people to improve their quality of life by strengthening their bodies, improve their health and well being and achieve whatever level they aim for in their fitness.

I hold a large number of classes for people of all levels in several locations across West Sussex
I have a studio at home that is equipped for lessons in:
  • Mat Pilates including small equipment
  • Reformer
  • Cadillac
  • Wunder Chair
To arrange a session with me either contact me by email, text or Instagram. I usually suggest having a 30 minute induction session. This will give me and you time to assess your level and discuss the best programme to suit your needs. I offer one-to-one, two-to-one, or three-to-one sessions, along with a varied on-line programme which can also be bespoke.

As well as working my own studio I also freelance, working in two facilities around Horsham, namely Cottesmore Golf and Country Club along with Total Therapy Studios in the centre of Horsham. Details of their classes can be found on their respective websites.
